In Minnesota, during 2003, Adult Protective Services received 8,434 reports of elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Of these, nearly half (43) percent were confirmed.

The most frequent allegation was neglect (3,760), followed by abuse (1,826), self-neglect (1,607), and financial exploitation (1,259).
